Pond Cypress

Taxodium ascendens

    Pond Cypress is a Florida Native shade tree.  It can tolerate wet soils and even standing water.  This makes it great for flooded swales, water edges, and other low lying areas but it also grows well in average soil conditions.  Similar in appearance to Bald Cypress but the foliage is scale-like and points upwards from the branches.
