    Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation' is a beautiful Florida native ornamental grass. It has broader leaves and a more upright growth habit than other grasses in the same family. The tips of the individual blades overtime shift toward a purplish color. In the fall a stunning show of gold and red hues are displayed. It is a host plant for the skipper butterfly caterpillars and attracts a variety of pollinators. It grows best in full sun and well-draining soil.
