    Little Bluestem is a Florida native warm-season grass. The leaves are blueish during the Spring and Summer turning reddish and gold in the Fall. The 'Sandhill' variety has more bluer leaves than the common Little Bluestem. The seeds heads formed in the Fall are a great food source for birds, like Painted Buntings and Cardinals. It is also a host plant for skipper butterfly caterpillars. It grows best in full sun and well-draining soil where it will reach about 2 feet in height. Use this small, stunning, native grass to your landscape for an additional dimension, color and texture!
