Climbing Aster

Ampelaster carolinianus

    Climbing Aster is a Florida native that can be added to landscapes to create a beautiful wildflower look. It is a vining shrub with small lavender flowers that bloom in late summer to early winter. It can be easily maintained to desired height; trained on a trellis as a vine-like shrub or trimmed as a low hedge. Climbing aster prefers full sun to partial shade and moderate to wet soils. It attracts a variety of pollinators.
